Vauxhall Omega (Elite 2.5td M reg) - immobiliser / Fob stopped working - Adie1974

Hi i have a vaxhall elite 2.5TD on an M plate

i had a brand new fob that is seperate from the key from vauxhalls a few months ago where they programmed it as well - all was fine (factory fitted immoboliser)

It stopped working the other day - i have placed 2 sets of new batteries and it still dont work - the fob, when pressed, flashes

i want to try to fix b4 i take back to vauxhalls as pain to have it towed

Any suggestions please :)

These early immobilser systems with a separate key fob can be by-passed.Probably the most cost effective solution on a car this age.hth

i did ask both vauhalls and an auto electrician if that was possible and did not get an answer

the auto electrician was adiment the fob was not factiry fitted came round and then said oh sorry yes you were right i cant program it and charged me for the trouble

do you know how its done

If you want the by-pass option,you will need to locate the immobiliser control unit first.Remove the glove box and the control unit should be located in the plastic frame of the dash.Usally silver aluminium casing about 10 cm square,with a plug in connector on one side.Once you have done this ,I can dig out the info .hth
