I suppose i shouldn't be entirely surprised but seeing the recommendations re having a decent Warranty to save having to deal in a Direct fashion with garages I took one out with a well known company. i have had it for at least two years and although i have not made a claim felt comforted by the knowledge that I was in good hands.

Woe is me then when, after treating myself to a new car, I found that I would no longer need the Warranty and thought i had better cancel and get some of the unused portion of the cost back. 7 months into the contract with no claims I thought there should be at least a fifty in it (cost 301 per year div 12 x 5 = 125 less penalty?) 6.00 I'm getting back. Ah well, I should have known it would be something like that.

So, if you are contemplating getting a new car in the coming year, and thinking about taking out a Warranty for your old worthless one think again, will it be worth it!

Why would I want to buy a warranty for my old car if I was getting a new one or am I missing something?

I was implying that you might be toying with the idea of a change but had not settled on a descision - and it was a bit tongue in cheek anyway as you have obviously missed.
