Ford Galaxy - 1999 Ford Galaxy low coolant light flashing - AlexT

Has anyone else had a problem with this ? I checked the coolant level, it's ok, removed the plug from the reservoir and put it back in, and the little red light is still flashing.

I think it's still safe to drive as I drove about 5 miles (within city limits) and the engine didn't go anywhere near the overheat red area. Have no ideea how to solve this, and I've got a 200 mile trip coming up on monday.

It may be a fault with the float in the tank.These use a non contact type switch where the switch is outside the bottle,not in the coolant and there is a magnetic float inside the tank.As long as the level is ok and there is no evidence of overheating ,just keep an eye on it for the moment.hth

Thanks for the reply, I had no ideea how the thing worked.

Started the engine today and it doesn't do it anymore. Must be some sort of an error. I'll keep an eye on it anyway, and thanks for the reply!
