Volkswagen Passat - Experince of towing with 4motion passat - injection doc

Hi Guys

Anyone have any experince of towing with a Passat 4 motion 2.0TDi ?

I have had three Passats in the past, all great cars but not used for towing but thinking of giving up my Landrover & buying 4motion Passat as my other Passats always gave me such good reliability & now VW have put their hands up for the diesel injectors nought to woory about ? or is there ?

4wd on cars with standard ground clearance works well on tarmac in poor conditions but the lack of ground clearance will stop you matching ordinary 4wd SUVs off-road, let alone matching a Land-Rover.

So it depends what and where you'll be towing.

I've no idea on injectors - I thought all VW's were unbreakable - or did that myth die with the Beetle?

Not exactly the same car is it ? Different model, engine and transmission.

And Caravan Club award testing isn't renowned for it's impartiality !!

Thanks for your input, but really looking for someone that has towed a caravan with a 2.0tdi 4 motion Passat.

I am aware of the ground cleanace issue but not really worried about that, the Landrover experince has been a bad one & customer service & dealer support has been abismal & thats putting it mildly.

So if anyone has towed with a Passat 4motion I would appreciate some feedback please.
