hi there, i have just joined this site, hope someone out there in the big bad world can help me. i have a v6 xtype, 2litre petrol, o3 plate and i had some fuel from a garage the other day and with in 30 miles it broke down, 200 quid later ( tow truck) an 100 quid to have it looked at , they say it was the pump

so they got me a second hand pump fitted it and off i went GREAT!!!!!!!! UNTIL TODAY 145 miles from home its starts running like a bag of spanners and conks out on me. another garage ( 100 qiud ) opens it up the first garage had bodged it with some hose in the tank after grinding have my chassi away to get to tank. this second garage has replaced it ( the hose ) it starts ok but then dies again. im not happy had a (150 quid taxi home) my cars miles away in a broken down state of mind my wallet is running on empty, is there anyone out there ???????????????????? jim

Sorry to see no-one's replied, jimb.....and I won't be any help - presumably you didn't misfuel it?

Do Jaguars still have a problem of many not lasting longer than 10yrs/100,000m without having shedloads of money spent on them? [I don't suppose the 'car-with-the-job-change-after-4yrs' brigade are too bothered....].
