Peugeot 306 - Peugeot 306 XRDT Immobiliser Problem - Mark T

Hi all,

I hope someone can help me...

I have just bought an M-reg 306. Today it has decided that it does indeed have an alarm and immobiliser, and I cannot start the car.

The IR key fob is working (flashes shown in digital camera), and operates the central locking fine. I have tried resetting it but makes no difference.

The alarm goes off when attempting to start the car. It stops after 15-20 seconds. The immobiliser also seems to prevent starting.

I have tried:

- Disconnecting the battery (the alarm goes off) and reconnecting before quickly trying to start the car 30 seconds later (alarm was still going off) whilst depressing the button on the right of the steering column.

- Entering with a key and attempting to start whilst depressing button

- Entering using fob and attempting to start whilst depressing button

I am assuming that the battery got a bit flat (haven't driven for 3-4 days) and reset it? I was driving fine before this, usually opening the car with a key as the fob seemed a bit flat (it has perked up after resetting it).

I should also mention that I am not using the most used/worn key fob, but another that came with the car. Maybe I used keys exclusively until attempting to use this fob today - could this make a difference? The most used fob is elsewhere atm.

Thanks

M
