Performance would be adequate in town, might be pushed to stay with a white van or 318i on the M25.

Very nice, but as for the claim about being equally at home in town, with that riding position you can forget it. And at a hundred and eighty five thousand bucks I don't think the big four will be losing any sleep just yet.
Incidently, I believe the army were working in conjunction with BMW on a large capacity diesel bike, in order to achieve refueling compatability with their other vehicles.

I remember something about an old Enfield bike being fitted with a cement mixer engine, this is all I could find on the subject:

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but Harley D. worked with the MoD a few years ago to design and build a British engined diesel bike...?
Also whatever happened to the Robin engined Enfield (Indian) that
was flogged a few years ago about 200mpg..

Enfield do produce a diesel engined bike that is on sale in India. Purely a cheap workhorse, performance is pretty abysmal so one is unlikely to see any at Box Hill performing wheelies and burnouts.

They'll probably be down the Embankment in Bedford then, along with all the Saxo 1.5Ds with huge wheels and bass bins...
