Vw Gold Diesel PD Engine - Mixing Synthetic Engine Oils - KenC

I have an unused amount ( 2 litres) of Halford Fully Synthetic Engine oil ( vw 505.01) sitting on the shelf, my question is can I mix it with QAUNTUM Fully Synthetic (same grade (vw 505.01) ?..........for my next oil change.... It seems a shame to throw it away

Dont see any reason why not as they are the same spec and synthetic or not would not react with each other...

What more opinions do you want and if you googled this site or on the web you would still have the same answer."No problem"

Providing the oils are the correct spec for the engine mix away.

Garages buy their oil in bulk for the best price, the brand is unimportant its the spec that matters. What happens when you have an oil change, you always leave a small amount behind in the oil galleries and sump and this has to mix with whatever the engine is filled with.
