would spanner light coming on and code for cooling fan module make it use more fuel or would broken glowplug
A broken glow plug would have no effect on economy, just possibly starting. Cooling fan faults won't either unless the engine is running cold.
thanks for reply , when i first start it in morning from cold i get alot of grey smoke which i think is down to glowplug or could it be leaky injector
