Audi A3 - Lost MW on stereo - Hopki

Evening all

Medium wave on my A3's stereo has disappeared. It began a few days ago with one or other of 693 or 909 vanishing and now I can't pick up anything. FM is still fine and I need to check LW.

I presume it's not aerial related as the roof mounted aerial is as it should be and I can still get FM. Could it be the connections at the back of the stereo unit? If so, how do I remove the stereo - do I need a special Audi tool?

Although you can pick up FM ok,this could still be an aerial related fault .The roof antenna incorporates an amplifier in its base for am reception.A simple test is to plug in a known good aerial into the rear of radio.The radio removal keys are nothing special,probably flat pin type that are readily available.hth

Tried to fit a better CD to my Octavia (similar wiring to A3)a few years ago. Found out it didn't power the aerial FM sort of worked but MW/LW didn't.
