ford ka - heater problems - bruvakev

hi there folks

my girlfriend has a ford ka

i have read the posts relating to the heater problems (there seem to be many)

here is our problem

the heater control valve is working (i bought a new one ) the old one behaves exactly the same as the new one.

upon further investigation i have dicovered that the control valve in the car is working too

ie it opens and closes the contol valve, but hot water will not pass through the heater matrix.

so i got a hose pipe and flushed the heater matrix thinking it might be blocked . the heater matrix is not blocked!

so im £40 down and still no closer to sorting this problem

the pipes leading to the control valve are both hot after the control valve they are both cold?!?!?

anyone have any clues as to what might be wrong with this car?

please help

kev

Are you sure that the valve is opening, is there a 12 volt supply on it when set to hot?

Set the heater control to the midway position i.e at 12 o clock and put your hand on the valve. You should feel the valve pulsing which indicates that the vave is working correctly. it is possible there's an airlock in the cooling system.
