mk4 fiesta - heater - gasspringmaker

Morning all, can anyone help?

The heater control in my 98 fiesta keeps mucking about , you put it about half way but the heat just gets hotter.

So you turn it down but it stays hot.

Is the control unit electrical? or run off cables?

Any help much appreciated..

1998 should have electric control valve-heat is controlled on these by water flow-air blend went out in 1996 IIRC.

Hi. so would this fail before the instrument panel in the dash?

If it does have an electrically controlled vale this would be the first place to look as they are known to give trouble.

Think it must be the valve.

Because one day it stays hot, today it was working fine.

So must be sticking, will order a new one.
