Peugeot 306 - Peugeot 306 fuel consumption high - strickjumpers

Hello,

The fuel consumption on my sons 306 (fuel injection) absolutely abysmal.maybe 10 -12 mpg. plugs, air filter changed, firing on 4, would it be the engine ECU?

many questions mike /

engine size ?

is the cat smelling like its running rich ?

How is he calculating the MPG ? if its just by putting few quids worth in its a total guess !

It really needs an emissions test first and diagnostixc check to see if the ECU is getting a cold or hot reading from the coolant sensor ? and further live data from the MAP sensor etc. The best way to check is under EOBD live data is read the STFT and LTFT and see what percentages they are reading. Do not clear any fault codes as this will wipe the Fuel trim readings

Has the stat stuck open ?
