Daewoo Lanos 1.4 8v - Fitting hydraulic lifters - panther

Got a ticking noise on my 1998 Daewoo Lanos 1.4 8v (similar to the old Astra engines). Before the oil change the ticking was only present during initial start-up from cold and went away. Did an oil & filter change using carlube 5-30w fully synth long life oil (on offer at wilko’s) but since then the ticking does not go away even after a good long run and increases with engine revs. Sounds like it’s coming from the right side of engine (No. 4 pot) so think it might be a hydraulic lifter. I’ve ordered some new and have got a tool to remove them without disturbing the camshaft or head but just wondering if there’s anything I need to do prior to fitting, like soak them in oil for a while or squeeze them in a vice? thanks
