Mercedes clk 320 - older car running report - barney100

Great idea to start the running report on the new Volvo. Thought I'd give a try at one on my older car which I bought three years ago at 94k and registered in 2000 .I've got to 130k now and apart from normal servicing I had one large bill for a pse pump of £600 and was quoted £600 to fix the convertible roof at the main dealers. I got it done at an indie for £100. I reckon I'm getting around 27/29 a gallon driving light footed but this drops if I have a day of enthusiastic right foot. The bodywork is showing no signs of rust but the windscreen is pitted from stones etc and will need replacing in the near future. I had a rough running problem but this was some electric thing which was quick and cheap to fix. i needed discs all round and a door mirror glass but this was soon after I bought it from an excellent indies who bore most of the cost. The car was £10,000 to buy but I got a decent px on my old C class diesel and parted with about £7,500. I can cruise all day at legal limits with the engine barely ticking over but being rear wheel drive in the snow its not very practical. The interior is wearing wel too. I reckon its worth something like £4,500 to £5,000 privately so three years has cost me about £5,000 capital. Insurance is £280 and tax just under £200. Mot soon so fingers crossed.

They're a very nice cruiser, sounds like you got a good one there. They can lift their skirts and fly when needed, too :)
