I was having difficulty selling my car, so having read good things about Suresell on Honest John i decided to give it a go.
Suresell is a branch of British Car Auctions aimed at private motorists. At first everything went well, my car was collected and I was told iit would hopefully go in the next Suresell Auction I rang up and someone came to collect my car.
I was a bit concerned that it wasn't actually entered into a Suresell aution, but I guessed it didn't matter too much. My car didn't quite reach the reserve but I agreed the price offered and was told that a cheque had been sent and would be received in 3- 5 working days.
Well this is day 5 - I rang up and was told that rather having to pay on the day as I'd been led to believe, as the buyer was an account customer he had 8 DAYS TO PAY and today is day 8 he has to pay or incur storage fees.
I've already bought my new car and need that money - pronto.
My point of view is if BCA choose to give some buyers leeway it's up to them to 'take the slack' and not leave me hanging.
Their whole selling point is that that the seller doesn't get messed about moneywise.
What a laugh.
Has anyone else had this problem?
