'Caller Display' on phone - mark(NEScotland)

When we plug in our Sky broadband to the phone line we lose the caller number display.

I have tested this extensively with BT operative over the phone; works OK when just phone plugged in; works OK with Sky+ box plugged in, but when the sky broadband connection is plugged in, we lose the display option. Phone works OK, but just don't get the caller number displayed. This is causing tensions as SWMBO needs this feature.

Any help appreciated; no doubt Sky will blame BT or whatever, but the service is clearly enabled as the BT line is clearly OK with just the phone.

3 yrs ago one of my boys had similar issues with Sky & BT Line. Sky said HD box must be connected as per contract but this upset the phone - engaged / no dial tone...........

Letters threats of cancelling by Sky + Penalty charges for breaking contract etc ....................took months and was never resolved by BT or Sky. Sky accepted after 9 months he was blameless and Sky+HD was never connected to phone line.

For the hassle Sky gave him he complained about their attitude, their engineer failing to keep pre-arranged dates and appt times, failure to see HD signal,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he threatened them with harassment and got 6 months of all channels foc!!

He moved house 6 months ago, new Sky dish/box and all is now well

I can certainly relate to the issues with Sky. We're only just over a year with Sky+, but the box performance is appauling. Probably having to switch it on and off once a week.

I had a mail yesterday from their 'help desk' suggesting the filter (their provided filter) is replaced with a new proprietary one purchased presumable from PC World or somewhere.

I'll give this a try, but hardly 'customer service'.
