Ford Transit - 2007 Transit 2.2 tdci - Sump Level going up!!! - biker rob

Bought a Transit last week. Van was serviced day before I purchased it.

Drove the thing home - 400 miles, following day I checked the oil level and noticed it was 3/4" above the upper mark. Thought the garage had overfilled the thing so changed the oil and filter myself.

Made sure it wasn't overfilled, checked it a couple of times and it was 3/4 on the dipstick.

Just checked the van again after a drive to work today and again it's 3/4" over the upper mark.

Van is sitting on level ground, oil is't milky or smelling of diesel - any ideas what happening.

Van is fitted with the 2.2 engine, is 3 years old and has covered 45k miles.

Cheers

It is possible the injectors are over fuelling and diesel is seeping past the rings and diluting your oil. A diagnostic check may reveal the ECU temp sensor is fualty and the engine thinks it is cold thus the over fuelling. Regards Peter
