Frod Focus Estate 2001 - Key won't open bonnet - Jacquie

We cannot open the bonnet with the key on my sons Ford Focus. His battery needs charging and we cannot get in. Would appreciate any help/advice

It may be frozen up.

You can connect your charger via the cigarette lighter socket via a suitable connector.

Don't charge at more than 10 amps.

Once you get the car started the heat will thaw out the bonnet lock hopefully.

spray some lube oil in the lock which will disperse the moisture once it unfreezes.

Warm the key and use a hair dryer on the lock to warm up and then lube so it dosen't freeze again.
