Had my new Scirocco 170TDi (manual transmission) now for just over a month and its a super amazing car. Notice after 400miles (only beause I turned the radio down) that there was a weird rotary purring type noise when depressing the clutch during acceleration. The noise only begins after a mile or so from a cold start. Apart from that the car drives perfect.
Took it into the dealers and they agreed it didn't sound normal and would look at it.
Here I am a week later, after numerous gearbox and turbo investigations to be told they can't find any fault and they have noticed that another new Scirocco does the same thing - yeah, maybe VW are knocking out loads of new Sciroccos with this fault and they don't realise it yet!
I did remind them that "it doesn't do it from cold" so something must be a miss so on that note they are escalating to VW technical to get some further help (or see if there is in fact a wider issue that VW are not aware of).
I'm trying to look on the positive side and hope that once VW are engaged they will work with the dealer to dig deep and sort this out. Unfortunately having previous serious issues with new cars and dealers I can't help but think they will push it back to me saying its the norm which i'm obviously not going to accept.
So, just after peoples comments really........
(Any 170TDi owners out there have this issue so I have some backup in case they try and fob me off with 'it's a characteristic sir').
