How do I disconnect the wiring on the fuel filter to be able to unscrew it, also is there a special tool to grip the filter to unscrew it? It has a bracket very close to it making it difficult to get a normal oil filter strap on it.
I've recently done this job on my 05 L200 2,5 diesel Trojan.
Follow the two water sensor wires from the filter and you will find a small plug/socket connector fixed to the bracket which holds the filter. Trip the latch which holds the plug into the socket and pull the plug out of the socket.
I used a Sykes oil filter strap wrench to unscrew the filter-the type that consists of a thin flat metal strip that is tightened onto the filter by turning the knob at the end.
