Vauxhall Astra H Estate 1.3cdti 05 Reg - How to release the coolant hose on heater matrix - Peterae

Hi

Just found i have been driving around with no coolant (no warning light), i topped it up and could see i had a major leak on a pipe that goes to the heater matrix.

Vauxhall wanted £160 to change it.

How do these complicated connections release and re fit, do i need a special tool, if i can work that out it should be very easy to change the pipe.

Hi,

I just did this job last night. You don't need any special tools, just twist the bayonet end and pull the rear collar forwards over the green plastic circlip type thing. Just keep twisting and pulling and it will come. I think I turned mine at least a couple of times before it gave, so perseverance is the key.
