My CRV has a 4WD capability classed as intelligent. It decides for itself when to engage 4WD when either one or both front wheels lose traction. It then cuts out when the throttle is eased to regain front wheel drive and steering. If on ice, it can happen that the front wheels lose grip and the 4WD propells the car in a straight line. On grass, towing a caravan, if a front wheel slips, it tears up the grass, not to the amusement of the site owner.
Does anyone know whether it is possible to fit a switch to override the "intelligence" and lock the 4wd in active mode?
Thanks
