Ford Puma - Engine chugs / jerks when you decelerating - pumaproblem

Hi all, my friends puma jerks when you let your foot off the throttle.I have removed the idle control valve and cleaned it out with carb cleaner.But the fault still appears to be there.Although this is an intermittant fault.Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated,thanks

Which engine-1.4,1.6 or 1.7 ??- tho' on all three should be no fuel going in on the overrun.

Sounds more like a TPS (throttle position sensor) concern.ie.it's telling the module that the throttle is still open.
