I have a Suzuki IGNIS 1.5 Sport (from april 2004), it's fine but I have been having problems with air-com from fairly early on. I am not mechanically-minded but I've had 5 cars with air con, and I know how to use it (at least once a week, followed by blast of hot air to kill bacterias).
In 2008, I noticed that the air con did not work on the Ignis. I took it to the dealer (a Suzuki dealer where the car had always been serviced) and explained that in my opinion, it was not just a recharge that the system needed. But they ignored that, and simply recharged it (they told me that they had tested it for leaks, etc. but found nothing).
As I suspected, the recharge did not last long (4 months, max).
I still used it for over a year, but not wanting to waste more money, I did not take it back.
At the 6th-year car service in March 2010, they recharged the system. Lasted less than 2 months.
End of May 2010, took it back for a closer inspection, they detected a faulty air con pipe, replaced it (£235 with Vat). It has a 12-month warranty.
End of August, and it has gone warm again… I suspect they just don’t know what's wrong with it and that I am wasting all this money for nothing.
I have arranged to take my car to them tomorrow, and have told them that I will not pay if if it something else than the pipe (as it would be a misdiagnosis made in May). But they can always counterattack bt telling me that, they changed the pipe in May as it needed it and this time it is something different (and far more expensive, no doubt).
How should I handle this one? (as I cannot prove anything).
Any help much appreciated.
