peugeot 306 hdi - no fuel out of high presure pump - marnemainia

any help please. i have a 306 hdi that suddenly would not start. i have found there is no fuel comming from the pump driven by the cambelt.

low presure pump working in tank. fuel being deliverd to filter and main pump but not comming out of pump to common rail and injectors.

before taking the drastic action of repplacing the pump it thought i would see if any help is out there. could it be the stop solinoid attached to the side of pump, or imobilizor,

good fuel delivery up to this point.

You need to check the fuel pressure: try a diesel specialist.

The ecu will only try to fire the injectors if it detects enough pressure in the fuel rail. Dont start taking any of the high pressure sytem apart - very very high pressure and single use connections.

Check the wiring to the fuel pressure sensor on the rail. If you search, the user screwloose posted some info on the voltages a while ago (he no longer posts here I think).

The high pressure pump is driven by the engine and some people have had starting problems with low battery or dying starter motor - in both cases that fails to drive the high pressure pump enough to give the required pressure.
