Tried to start my corsa and a warning light showing the letter " F " illuminated and car wouldnt start. Contacted my local garage (not vauxhall) and they didnt know what it was.

Contacted local Vauxhall garage explained and they informed me it was a problem with my automatic gear box. The car has a manual gear box!

I booked the car in and tried again to start the car, so took the car in.

Phonecall from vauxhall:

Investigated " F " display, carried out various tech test, various non present trouble codes stored but no communication with ecu.

Informed that I would need a new ecu.

Is this an isolated fault?? and why the warning code " F " ???

any advice welcome.
