Interesting article here about a new battery technology that could be used in EVs in the future:

"The SCiB – or Super Charge ion Battery – is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that boasts minimal capacity loss even after 6,000 charge-discharge cycles, high levels of safety and rapid charging capability with the ability to charge to 90 percent of capacity in as fast as 5 minutes."

Not from a household supply I hope;if you're talking about charging a battery to power a vehicle,you'd need a direct connection to the National Grid to do it that quickly!

Yes, that certainly won't be using a 13-amp plug. It will presumably be level 3 charging, which uses high voltage DC.
