Hi!
I recently bought used Vivaro (52 plate) from a private seller. The Van runs smooth, no trouble starting from cold.
Last week, I nipped out, and stopped at a local shop on the way home. The van wouldn't start - it was turning over, but not starting.
The battery started to get low, and so I sent my partner home to get her car to charge the battery..
15mins later+15mins charging, the Van started..
Ok, now this has happened a few times - always after running for a few miles (ie enough for the engine to get hot).
The van starts first time every morning, lunchtime and evening (ie from cold)
The temp gauge never goes above 1/2 way (90C?) - this sunday I drove from Hertfordshire to Birmingham, stuck on the M1 for a bit..
I've been scouring the forums, and found the posts about "Drain Off Pipe"

So... tonight, I removed the cover and located them, picture on link below;

The 4th injector(?) from the left has a damp bit there...
I think this is worthwhile doing - but this is my 1st Diesel. If its really a matter of replacing these pipes, then I'm pretty sure I can do it :-) I'm fairly technical, and have replaced brakes, cylinder heads in old bangers in years gone past!
Its not clear in my mind what these things do, and if they need to be primed (somehow?) after fitting the new pipes.
I guess this could also be an EGR valve problem? One thing at a time I guess!
I'm sorry if this is a bit basic - but I've found
