Well where do I begin. My car broke down 6 weeks ago. I'm in the RAC so they towed me to the nearest garage, which they said were reasonably good - That was all that RAC would do since I have subsequently spoken to them for assistance.
This is where the trauma begins - they still have it and I'm not really any where near getting it back / repaired!!! They have given a number of excuses about why they haven't been able to repair it - the diagnostic says the sensors need replaced, the company sent the wrong part, the part isn't the fault, the diagnostic keeps giving different error readings - the list of excuses goes on and on and on and on........
We have had the car for just shy of one year when it broke down and we had a years warranty on the car at the time - we had to insist they contacted the warrranty people - who can't believe it's taken this length of time either. However, the warranty co. have said it is between us and the garage to sort out they won't get involved at all.
Today I insisted the garage take it to a main dealer as I want our car back - "oh we've been on touch with Mazda and they have said they have a slot a week on Tuesday - two days shy of them having the car for 2 months!!! . I told them this was unacceptable and asked them to speak to them to get it in sooner. Amazingly, the car is being towed to MAzda as I type (I hope ).
This is where my really concern / questions begin.
1. Where do I stand with regards the work the garage have done (or not done which is more accurate) to date - am I liable for the costs to not fix my car given the time they have spent on it?
2.The garage have booked it under their name with Mazda in order to (they say) keep the warranty company sweet - can I pay the mazda garage direct to get my car back?
3. Where would you advise I get legel advice from it order to pursue this as I am expecting I might need to Pay Under Protest to get my car back!
Any other advice (consoling) gratefully received.
