I'm looking for some info relating to Qashqai automatics.

Is a 2.0 the smallest qashqai that comes in automatic? also does it come in a diesel without 4wd.

I've been looking on different used car sites and all the autos seem to be 2.0 petrols, are the diesels very hard to source used? I'm not overly keen on this big of engine but could maybe get over it if it was a diesel.

Also is there any car that would have similar height and space inside without being any bigger outside.

Thanks for any help.

Assuming that the What Car tables are reliable, you can have an automatic only with a 2.0 litre engine, either petrol or diesel. The same applies to 4wd - 2.0 only, but you can have 2wd with any engine. For some doubtless excellent reason, you can have a 2wd petrol automatic but the diesel automatic is 4wd only

Probably worth checking with a Nissan dealer or look at their website. There's also lots of information on this site - click or Reviews at the top of the page.

There are other similar 'crossover' cars around, e.g. Ford C-Max, VW Tiguan, Skoda Yeti and Toyota RAV-4.

Thank you

I thought I might have missed something but I guess not, seems rather stupid to only have diesel in 4wd.

Also looking for feedback from any 2.0 owners, are they very hard on fuel? I've seen figures from as low as mid twenties up to 40 and emmisions seem very high.

Two litres isn't big. Just about enough to lug that hulking great body around, I would think.
My son had a 1.6 QashQai on hire for a long journey recently and it was woefully underpowered.

Beware the 2 ltr diesel has the dreaded particle filter that could cuase problems.

Hi wheelsinwheels

I have had my Qashqai 2 litre petrol auto for 16 months and the computer average mpg is stuck on 31.4 ,my type of journey is short trips around town and I am a careful driver and use a light foot. The longest trip I've done was to Cornwall distance of 500 miles and computer showed 41 mpg.

The CVT drive is so smooth and the car is very comfortable.

i hope this helps you

Thanks Hoseman,

i've sat in one and have to say they're a very comfortable car, thanks for the feedback its good to hear from a long term user, I don't use a heavy foot so it may not be too bad if I decided to go for one, its just a pity the don't do a 2wd diesel auto.

No doubt about it, question is, what about its long term reliability ?

I drove 2 litre petrol Nissan 'sedan' in Canada a couple of years ago with cvt gearbox. Two weeks and more than 2000 miles gave me 49mpg..(Canadian gallon is Imperial gallon, not US gallon). rather more than your figure. Perhaps down to type of traffic but still a lot of difference. I was well impressed. When you're cruising at a constant speed - any speed, 30mph or 70mph, the engine speed is barely above tickover. Brilliant.
