Old AA BADGE OR SIGN - Signotimes

Hi, I'm new here so hope I have come to the right place to ask my question.

I have recently found a flat metal AA badge that is oval & painted white. It has a flat metal hump at the top within which the AA insignia is placed. It also has the large letters "NR" in the oval. These, like the insignia are painted black.

I am clueless as to what the "NR" on it stands for and its significance.

It measures 7 inches at its widest point.

Can anyone help?.

Cheers.

Keith

AA membership badges remain the property of the AA and should be returned when membership ceases. So you will of course be handing it in, after having satisfied your curiosity. :)
