My Mondeo has a sort of rubbing/griding noise from the steering especially when turning left and worst at between 30 & 40 MPH. Last year the steering pump was replaced but still the noise. I have tried the Haynes method of bleeding but this proved nothing. Again the Haynes manual suggests using a vacuum pump, but my local garage have never heard of this. I think the problem is from the steering rack area and from the pump failure of last year, but the noise only happens when the car is moving. Anyone got any idea please.
