97 1.4 Zetec Speed sensor - Phil48
Hi,

I've seen mentioned on this forum the speed sensor. (I have a stalling issue)

I rolled my Fiesta downhill in neutral no throttle (as suggested) and from memory should expect the revs to rise?

The revs stayed as they were, does this mean I have an issue with the speed sensor?

Also clutch switch - how can I test this

any suggestions welcome

cheers

As the engine is disengaged from the road wheels the revs will not rise when coasting downhill in neutral ? the engine will be ticking over at a constant speed

hmmm

not the reply I was expecting although thanks anyway

Uncontrolled engine revving - Screwloose

No; just stop on a downslope; footbrake on; into neutral - then just let it roll forwards at walking pace and the revs should rise, then drop back to idle the moment it stops.
