Ford C-MAX (2003 - 2010) - 06 1.8 power assist failure message

06 1.8 power assist failure message - malikjs
I'm hoping someone may have some help for me, i have a message come up on my Focus C-max 56 plate 1.8 petrol reading ''power assist failure'', recently the battery had gone flat and it was during this period the message came up, i have been told that i probably need a new steering pump, however the steering feels the way it should and certainly doesnt feel like its failed or anything.
I would appreciate any advice that can offered.

If the Cmax has electric power steering, the error will have been caused by the low voltage form the failing battery. Now the battery has been changed, the error is probably still in the ECU memory.

Have the codes read and cleared. It wil probably be ok.
