I sat in a CL500 today. It was awesome.
My wifes son has gone and got himself a CL500. 1 yr old, 9k on the clock, jet black with cream leather, double glazed windows (for heaven sake).
There are buttons for everything. If it moves? press a button, if it don't move? press a button til it does.
For all its length, there ain't a huge amount of leg room in the back. snip - inappropriate comment
The best mpg he has had is 22 (at 70 on the motorway)
Still, nice car though.

Huge presence those cars have. Good on him, live the dream.

Yes lovely car. I wonder how much less than new list price he paid?
|
I believe he paid low 50's, which is about 30k less than on the road price when new.
Mind you, if I paid that for a car I'd be frightened to take it to
1. Sainsco
2. Tescbury
3. Morrialdi
4. Any multi storey car park
5. Any car park
6. in fact, any where off my drive

Some drives might be no go areas - how about Moss Side :-)

Or maybe that'd be one of the safest places to take it.
If you park a car like that on Moss Side people might think that you're not someone to mess with!

I looked at replacing the XJ with a CL500/63. Lovely cars with huge spec. but depreciation to match.
Rear seats were the biggest problem for me. Very little legroom and poor access.

He should be seeing about 28mpg on a motorway run with 15 to 18mpg around town. 22mpg is a reasonable average.
