I have a flashing glow plug light problem (who doesn't).
Mondeo Mk3 2005 130bhp 2.0 tdci. 108000 miles.
With normal driving the car behaves OK. I've driven at 85mph in 4th gear @4000rpm without any problems.
The car starts fine even on cold mornings.
However when I'm doing 40-50 mph and put my foot down the car goes into limp mode.
Restarting cures it until the next time.
The camshaft sensor was replaced 2/3 years ago when the car kept cutting out. Not had this problem since.
I've changed crankshaft sensor.
Can't find any leaks in the system.
Used a mates OCD diagnostic tool several times over the past few weeks. Came up with P0001 once.
Since then this code has not reappeared.
Today had it read with professional diagnostic. Came up with no codes at all.
Came home replaced egr (I have two -I tested the replacement by starting the car and connecting the vaccum pipe. The valve opened and closed ok.
Cleaned manifold (pretty caked up). Replaced fuel filter but still have the flashing glow plug light.
Used mates OCD again came up with code P0002 fuel volume regulator control circuit which appears to point to the fuel metering valve on the pump.
Anyone replaced this? Is it simple? Given the symptoms I've described is it likely this is the cause?
Thanks in advance - I'm stumped.
