Can you help or advise me on this.
I had a flat battery on my alfa 156 which looks like has had it.
I have managed to replace with another. My problem is now I have power but no ignition. When I turn the key to MAR There is also a lot of ticking going on.
When I hit ignition the engine does not turn over. Then I get ABS EBD System failure take it to the dealers.
appreciate input thanks

have you double checked all the wires that came off the battery?
also are you sure the car has not got another problem that you have thought is the flat battery?
|
your "other" battery is flat the abs/ebd message is caused by low voltage

how do I switch my alarm off so i can change the battery over again.
Is there no mention in the handbook - if you've got one?

Yes I have a hand book thanks. But doesnt cover my experience.
It talks about an emergency key??
I don't have an emergency key only a key. I followed the instructions about holding down the button for four seconds and waiting for five beeps. But my car just does not do that. Hence when I go to take the battery out the alarm goes off. Anyone help me on this one. Can someone let me know what I am doing wrong and point me in the right direction. Much appreciated.

Well
I took my battery out and the alarm went off. So somewhere on my car is a back up power supply. Thanks for your help.
