Fiat doblo 1.9 jtd common rail diesel 97,000 miles has failed on emissions , run diesel clean throught it but still chucking out black smoke on throttle, emissions read abou 5.0 , any ideas please

When was the air filter last changed? Yes makes a huge differance & the fuel filter & oil and filter give it a service.

Thanks for reply, have changed air and oil filter, then today noticed someone removed lead to air mass, reconnected but now doesnt pull very well, but passed emissions, phoned fiat they said they dont get much call for air mass but do for ERG valves. Maybe diagnostic is the answer ?

thanks for reply, had diagnostic, it was air mass , £170 from fiat but got it sorced at £75,cheers
