You're supposed to drain the old oil (and coolant for good measure), redline it for a minute, and THEN add the new oil (and coolant).

All owners/drivers of cars with common rail diesel engines are recommended to follow the procedure filmed above at least once per week in order to allow their PF anti-pollution systems to correctly initiate the re-cycle process...
