More likely you have a problem with the idele speed stepper motor.. - mounted on the back of teh throttle body. Car Mechanics had an article March 04...
waxstat assembly used to open/close auxiliary air valve. If cooling system has been neglected, the pipe with hot coolant blocks .. and revs remain high when engine is warm..
Solution: flush cooling system with a coolant flush.. bypass pipe must be blown through... ... you may need to strip it down...
No fault code is triggered with above.
