04 2.0 Petrol - Flat spot when accelerating - teddybear
Hi

My 2004 C5 when cold is running a little weird.

If you rev the engine to pull off when cold, it will almost stall and the revs drop almost a backfire. Once revved above about 1500-200rpm it is fine.

Idles smootly and pulls away fine with coaxing.

Once warm not quite so bad and will accelerate cleanly on the open road and responsive

Engine does also burn a little oil. Not in exahust or leaks though just burns it.

Engine only done 50K and serviced recently

Will take it to our friendly citroen independent specialist later in the week to see what they say.

I noticed the petrol filter not changed in the c5 at service, so maybe ?

Garage connected diagnostics

Intermittent Fault in ignition Coil 1/1 and 1/3 i think. (open circuit)

This would for the faulty running as no decent spark

Damage £90 + VAT and 30 mins fittings.

1) Anyone fitted one and how easy. Looks easy and me done HT leads and coils on older cars
2) Why cost so much, and surprised gone when car only 5 years old.

Oh well easy repair i guess
