I noticed that one side of the exhaust was suddenly hanging down. Seems like a metal bracket has parted from a rear silencer and overstressed the remaining rubber mount.
Hoping that the main dealer will sort this under warranty. Car is only 17 months old but the exhaust system looks very rusty. My aluminised Passat exhaust had no significant corrosion at 6 years.

i would be surprised if the warranty covered this

My experience of dealer responses to exhaust system problems is that they will offer to pay half of the repair. Thing is, anywhere else the repair costs half of what the dealer asks for, so it's not worth it.

I just climbed under mums V6 Coupe and the exhaust looks near perfect and thats 4 years old this July. Maybe yours was stored in long grass before delivery - ive seen this cause serious rusting way beyond an exhaust before now.

The rear section of the twin exhaust was replaced under warranty. No argument. Basically due to a welded bracket coming away from the RHS silencer. The single exhaust pipe forward of that looks disgracefully rusty and I can not see it lasting much longer. Poor compared to the aluminized exhausts fitted OE to most cars nowadays.

Thats a big plus for them, they do seem to be quick to honour warranty.
I see some nice looking exhausts under some new cars, but even the aluminized ones show signs of corrosion at the weld seams.
My hilux exhaust looked every bit as poor as the front section you describe after only 1 winter..it's now painted in heatproof matt black, hopefully it will help, but if it doesn't it looks much better.
