By mistake, my OH has put engine transmission/power steering fluid in the coolant expansion tank "because they both looked pink". I have only just found out and the car has been driven around for about a week with no obvious ill effects. Does anyone know if any permanent damage will have been done, and do i need to take it to the garage? Also does anyone know where I can get a copy of the owners manual - it has gone missing which contributed to the problem in the first place.
Thanks

suppose its better than putting water in the power steering system that a lot of people do
you need to completely flush out the water system and probably use a propietry flusher as well, ive seen various washing powders mentioned over the years to clean out internals but to my mind i would rather go down the factors and see what they have on the shelf

This is the stuff to flush it with www.forteuk.co.uk/Cooling_system_flush.htm
Lots of reverse flushing with a hose pipe and a new lot of antifreeze.

"Cooling System Flush will not remove emulsified oil following head gasket failure, this is best treated with Forté Bio Degreaser"
thats the stuff ----------but only available from a good garage scheme
other products are available as well mind from de factor
