2004 2000 head gasket? - willyb
Bought the car, 54 reg 140 tdi( now with 45K) last Jan topped up the coolant for the first time in December in response to the warning light and again last week now the lights on again 400miles later.

Doen't look good but car going fine, no signs of contamination( oil or water ) temp guage ok, no white exhaust smoke.

Is there a test that will confirm for certain HG failure? Anyone know repair cost?

Any help very welcome.

Hiya

Are you sure its not leaking? Does the tank cap seal properly?

When its hot (aka after you get to work) - leave it running and look under it for leaks/steam....

Check under the bonnet with it running too. (will be hot!!)
