02 3.0 Jaguar outside temp sensor replacement - 9884booth

Exterior temp gauge suddenly rose from 8 deg C to 52 deg C and now seems to be stuck there.

Is this an easy part to replace? Where is it and how is it replaced.

Aircon still working but car seems to be letting outside air into the car unheated meaning Aircon settings need to be high to warm....28 deg otherwise cool air is coming through vents.

I believe these are fitted behind the front bumper somewhere. Not sure how easy to replace though.

My 406 had it sticking out of the nearside door mirror on the bottom edge.
