98 1.8td poor start, misfire & idle - andynumpty
Hi, i'm having probs with my old motor. its done 100k, not a great starter even though had new glow plugs fitted. it drives & pulls well but it idle's bad. it feels like its missing & blue smoke appears. the revs also rise & fall randomly.
Any help would be welcome.

Have you cracked off a injector to isolate a cylinder with this misfire?

Does the glow system work correctly? i know you have new plugs but do they work?

Blue smoke is buring oil, when was all the filters changed?

Hi, where is the EGR valve on my car, its a Endura DE engine.

Ok, I've had it quickly looked at & the 'advance solienoid' appears not to be working. Any body recommend a cheap place to buy?

Sounds as though it could be sucking air into the fuel system somewhere, check around the fuel filter and primer and all the line connections.
