1995 4 litre flat battery - menorca
Have got flat battery.Immobiliser has engaged and I have never had remote key fob for it.What can I do to start car ?

The logical answer would be to recharge the battery. Guessing then that the immobiliser will sort itself out. Not sure what difference having or not having a remote keyfob makes though.

I am assuming the keyfob is used to enable/disable the immobiliser. And menorca has not got it so has never armed the immobiliser. The recent flat battery has now caused the immobiliser to arm itself and he has no way of turning it off.

If this is the case... not sure this forum is the place to discuss this. You might need to advice of a good auto-electrician or a Lexus service department.

Menorca, are you trying to start the car by jump leads alone or have you charged the battery properly?

Try charging the battery overnight, then reconnect, close bonnet lock doors and unlock again and try, not promising it will work.

The idea above about lexus forum is a good idea, those lads should know if there's a manual override.

AA man came and by shutting everything off, ignition off , locking doors.......repeating a number of times the immobiliser was finally overcome and this allowed car to start.

hi just bought a 4litre,it has been imobile for two years,so the imobilizer has probably kicked in,it looks in a right state bonnet up covered in dust.you have to go through some strange routines sometimes to reset imobilisers, aspecially cit c5,the worst most unreliable useless piece of junk car ever invented.so i will let you know if i can get it going.the previous owner said he just ran it in there and left it,so being an optomist..lets see what happens.if i cant get it i will have to contact lexus..
