I bought a 58 plate Qashqai 7 weeks ago from a dealer, the car had already been registered so when i bought it the salesmen said i should have my V5 within 4 weeks.6 weeks have now passed and when i phoned the DVLA this morning they said there had been no change from the original registration.I went back onto the phone and called the salesmen who said that car was registered to me but was registered to my name care of a leasing company.Said i would get my v5 in 11 months.Turns out the car should never have technically been sold without me knowing i wouldnt get the v5.I did get the car at a good price but now have been told to drive carefully because i cant provide a v5 if anything happens. Also i dont know what happens car insurance wise. What can i do? Can i reject the car?

I would suspect you can't sell it, can't go abroad...... Reject and/or try local trading standards?

So if I read this correctly , it's your car but you can't have title to it ?

Depends what his contract says.
Is the Dealer the owner, and HonestBear the keeper?
Is HonestBear the owner and the Dealer the registered keeper?
What exactly has HonestBear paid for?
Supposing the dealer goes bust, then what?
Has HB got the car insured? If so, did he say he was the owner or the keeper?
Questions, questions, questions, ..
