Can you help please as I have just been quoted £152 by BMW to change the battery on my 530i. I have found some good deals on the Internet for a new battery but where does it go? If someone could let me know and how to change it I would be very grateful, it can't be that difficult surely?

If that dealer price is fixed and all-in - take it.
Cheap batteries are cheap for a reason and it's not a nice one to change - even before you get into the nightmare of re-powering all the ECUs.
Leave that grief to them - they'll have the kit to cope. Be aware that there are two batteries in the boot on these; the main and the auxiliary.

Sounds cheap to me.When replacing a battery on these ,the energy management system will need re-setting via diagnostic to tell the car it has had a new battery fitted with type and capacity info.hth

Whenever I hear of difficult battery changes, it always reminds me of early Saab Turbos.
You had to remove the turbo to replace the battery.
